Danielle Foster is a Los Angeles–based visual artist whose practice explores the intersection of psychology and horror. Through representational painting, she investigates memory, personhood, and the unsettling nature of the mind. Employing techniques such as blurring, repetition, and symbolic imagery, her work reflects cognitive dissonance and the fragmented process of recalling experience. Recently, Foster has explored the metaphor of the “mind as a circus,” using its illusionary and performative qualities to examine the relationship between conscious and unconscious thought. Her paintings balance deeply personal reflection with a sense of shared nostalgia, inviting viewers into a familiar yet uncanny psychological space.
