Over the years, he has contributed design work for major festivals like Bonnaroo and Baygrass; national touring artists including Foo Fighters, Grace Potter, A Perfect Circle, Wilco, and Trey Anastasio; and top comedians such as Nate Bargatze, Bert Kreischer, Steve-O, and Rory Scovel. Dave’s artistic range effortlessly spans from modern minimalism to vibrant, retro-pop psychedelic fusion.
Artist Statement:
"Like a lot of kids growing up in the ’80s, Pee-wee Herman offered one of my earliest glimpses into a world where creativity had no rules. His universe was weird, whimsical, colorful, and completely unapologetic—and for a kid who was being raised on art, illustration, and humor, it felt like home.
That blend of imagination and absurdity has stayed with me ever since. I’ve always loved finding opportunities to weave pop culture into my artwork, reinterpreting the things that shaped us into something new. In many ways, pieces like this feel like modern-day time capsules—taking the nostalgia of our collective past and reimagining it through illustrated design. This tribute is my way of celebrating a character who proved that being creative, curious, and a little unconventional was something worth embracing."
