Sally George is a professional graphic designer, illustrator, and cartoonist based in Upstate New York. Her work is deeply inspired by the colorful, high-octane cartoons she grew up watching in the '90s, reimagined through a distinctively inclusive, modern lens for the "girls, gays, and theys." She is also a lifelong Pee-wee Herman fan!
Artist Statement:
"Like many fans, I was devastated when Paul Reubens passed away in 2023. In fact, I don't think a celebrity death has ever affected me as deeply as Paul's. As a tribute to him and the immense joy his work has personally brought me, I wanted to capture Paul surrounded by a few of his most beloved characters—The Spleen (from 1999's Mystery Men), Amilyn (from 1992's Buffy the Vampire Slayer film), and, of course, the iconic Pee-wee Herman."
