Miguel Angel Flores is a visionary artist and tattooer who grew up in a small town in the Eastern Sierras of California. As a child, Miguel was quiet and spent his free time with his head buried in his drawings books obsessing over vampires, mermaids, and everything in that realm of dark fantasy. At 16, he received a prestigious art scholarship that allowed him to receive a higher education at the art department of UCLA. After graduating in 2016, his visual language continued to evolve into a dark surrealism, weaving together threads of emotions such as grief, pleasure, pain and anguish with other themes he lived through. His work is heavily influenced by nature, mysticism, and the human experience. Through his own experience, he conjures unsettling worlds by way of oil painting, photography, sculpture, and tattoo art. His work is a portal to the shadow self, where the lines between reality and the unknown blur. By embracing the twisted and the unfamiliar, Miguel's art invites viewers to confront the depths of their own psyche, where the eerie and the sublime entwine. With each stroke of their brush or needle, Miguel summons forth the shadows, forcing viewers to confront the monsters that lurk within.
