Scum Choir (Parker Winans) is a Whittier-based dark art and surrealist painter. He uses acrylics in a classically inspired way, borrowing techniques from surrealism and abstract art to create painterly portraits and landscapes with an organic, often dark, feel.His work has been shown at the Dark Art Emporium, the Hive Gallery (where he was also a resident artist for two years,) Raven’s Gallery, La Luz De Jesus and other galleries around LA. He has made some viral art videos which boosted his online following. He is currently a teacher and does events, expos and conventions painting his custom “Grotesque Portraits” in watercolor.
