"I approach art with no clear motive, allowing the audience to draw their own conclusions about what a piece truly means. Ultimately, I hope to leave viewers with one enduring question: But is it art?

Growing up in the '80s, I absolutely loved watching the Pee-wee movies—and to this day, I still quote 'Tell ’em Large Marge sent ya!' constantly. Saturday mornings eating cereal and watching Pee-wee’s Playhouse were some of the best times, back when things were simpler before everything went to hell in a handbasket. I still turn to Pee-wee whenever I’m feeling down or overwhelmed; it instantly takes me back to my childhood, imagining the taste of Cap'n Crunch, firmly planted in front of the television, when my only real care in the world was whether I was going to play Mega Man or Punch-Out!! afterward. I’ve passed that Pee-wee passion down to my 10-year-old daughter, and my hope is that she will pass it along to her own kids long after I'm gone."
