Karina Vizcarra (Karikatura) is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in Guadalajara, Mexico. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Arts from the University of Guadalajara and studied Haute Couture at the COSCORT School.
Spanning painting, sculpture, jewelry, and stop-motion animation, Vizcarra's practice centers on dreamlike, hybrid beings that fuse human, animal, and fantastical anatomy. Informed by a deeply symbolic interior world, her figures probe the tension between instinct and reason, fragility and resilience. Her haute couture training informs a meticulous sensitivity to texture, intricate detailing, and the tactile use of color as an emotional second skin.
In addition to her studio work, she has contributed to stop-motion film projects, including animation for the band Korn. Vizcarra has exhibited internationally across Los Angeles, New York, Albuquerque, and Guadalajara, with showcases including the LA Art Show.
