Les Schettkoe is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice investigates the silence of God, the psychology of spiritual ruin, and the fragmented remnants of ancient belief.
Drawing from scripture, Catholic mysticism, and the apocryphal Book of Enoch, Schettkoe’s paintings inhabit a liminal threshold between revelation and abandonment—where angels fall, prayers echo unanswered, and salvation hovers just out of reach. A self-taught painter informed by a background in design and cultural iconography, he rejects the decorative in pursuit of the raw, expressionistic, and theological. His focus fixates obsessively on the head, the wound, the veil, and the watcher, treating each canvas as a relic of personal exorcism and existential reckoning.
In ongoing bodies of work such as Oblivion and Enoch, Schettkoe interrogates the lore of fallen watchers, Nephilim hybrids, and the psychological weight of unrequited faith. These works operate as sacred texts dismantled and reassembled through ash, oil, and silence.
