"This piece symbolizes how Pee-wee's friends eagerly waited for him to come through that door, welcoming all of us viewers into a place full of fun and a bit of crazy. It is also meant to represent the feeling of waiting for a friend who is never coming back. The playhouse is still full of life, but the heart is gone."
