Paul Jach has been a fixture in the arts since 1998, holding a BFA from the Academy of Art University and an MA in Studio Art Education. A career-long gallerist, he founded the Speakeasy Art Gallery in Boonton, NJ, in 2009, and remains deeply committed to community arts advocacy—a dedication that has earned him both professional and civic honors. Since 2024, Paul has focused on his studio practice, exhibiting at galleries across the country including La Luz de Jesus and Brassworks Gallery. His distinctive mixed-media style juxtaposes wood carving with industrial metal elements, drawing inspiration from folklore, nature, and pop culture.
Artist Statement:
"As a mixed-media artist, I find inspiration in repurposing industrial elements into playful, experimental works. I’ve loved Pee-wee since childhood; my sister and I were constant viewers, notorious for yelling and waving our arms whenever we heard the 'Secret Word of the Day.'
For this piece, I knew I had to build Conky 2000. True to my style, the piece is constructed entirely from found objects—including washers, bearings, a dryer gas line, candy trays, and push-pins. For the 'Secret Word,' I chose 'Rebel.' It’s a dual tribute: a nod to Pee-wee’s status as a beloved, independent rebel, and a call to action from Conky himself."
