Sally George is a professional graphic designer, illustrator, and cartoonist based in Upstate New York. Her work is deeply inspired by the colorful, high-octane cartoons she grew up watching in the '90s, reimagined through a distinctively inclusive, modern lens for the "girls, gays, and theys." She is also a lifelong Pee-wee Herman fan!
Artist Statement:
"This piece is part of a series of drawings showcasing the various Halloween costumes Pee-wee wore during special appearances over the years. He donned this particular Dracula look in 1985 for a guest appearance on The Tonight Show, which was guest-hosted by Joan Rivers. Fun fact: his lifelong friend, fellow Groundling, and horror icon Elvira was also a guest on that very same episode!
