Artist Statement:
"Paging Mr. Herman was inspired by a shift in my own home. After gifting my first portrait of Paul Reubens as Pee-wee to my son in Brooklyn, his presence was deeply missed by my husband, my four other adult children, and even my four-year-old grandson, who has been lovingly raised on Pee-wee's Playhouse. This piece is a tribute to that collective family fandom, attempting to take the viewer right into the mind of the 'rebel and a loner' that his friend Dottie will never quite understand."
