Mixed Media: Paper mâché with cardboard, newspaper & packing paper (including an assorted mini bundt cake box - something I’d like to think Paul would appreciate), polymer clay, paper clay, foam clay, wood, paper, acrylic paint, resin, and varnish.
19.5” x 14.5” x 2”
Artist Statement:
"Pee-wee Herman was my doorway into the wonderfully strange world of Paul Reubens, but what stayed with me was the extraordinary imagination behind everything he created. I connected deeply with the creative freedom in Reubens’ work and his fearless embrace of the playful, offbeat, and beautifully bizarre. His work was funny, clever, surreal, and impossible to define—yet instantly recognizable.
This piece explores memory, nostalgia, and imagination while honoring an artist whose work gave so many of us permission to embrace joy, oddity, and wonder."
